I would say to use a creay pomade mixed with some shine serum.

Also, do a deep conditioning treatment about once a week and if it's really damaged, try not to put too much heat to it (i.e. flat irons, curling irons, etc.) and also give it some time to recover and don't dye it for a while if possible.

Try the Frederic Fekkai Protein RX treatment mask. I too have curly hair (long and damaged from colouring) http://www.fekkai.com/products/proteinrx/treatment-mask. This mask made my hair feel instantly better.

Also I use Luscious curls http://www.fekkai.com/products/luscious-curls/cream mixed with Glossing cream http://www.fekkai.com/products/glossing/glossing-cream to help with the dryness at the tips (which causes frizz).
The glossing cream adds a healthy shine (that looks natural, not fake shine).

Most stores will probably get you or make you a tester if you ask (they do in my country anyway).

I use mostly Aveda products- and they all work wonderfully. I also find I don't use as much product as other brands so spending the extra money is worth it-they have a great line called 'Be curly' and my sister has curly hair and it makes it more managable and shinny with less frizz-it also defines her curls!

If you can't get a tester, send me a PM and I'll send you a tester I have of it.

Masks, masks, masks...

Use olive oil on the lenghts (I mean, everywhere except your scalp), and keep your hair at least one hour in a warm, wet towel. Then rinse and wash your hair.

It's even better if you can let it on your hair the whole night, but protect your pillow carefully :-) I don't do this very often because I simply hate the smell of olive oil :-(

It also works well with Palm Oil, or Castor Oil, but of course it's more expensive!

You can also help the oil get into your skin by using a warm hairdyer on it. t won't dry the oil, but the warmth will help it get into the hair :-)

Also, when you make a classical hair mask in your shower, use hot water before in order to open the hair's shells (? scales?), make your mask, and rinse it only with cold water (so that the good things stay in your hair).

Also, when you do a shampoo, you should always rinse it quite long, until your hair "rustles" (?crunches? screeches?) when you move it. It is the sign that shows that your hair has been rinsed well (it can take quite a long time).
